UK Bound

Wednesday, May 14th, 2008

Tomorrow Nik and I leave for London and Scotland. I can’t wait to eat many full English breakfasts, march around Loch Lomond in my new hiking shoes, and of course check out what handbags the locals are sporting.

I can’t believe I have a clear workspace! It feels good to leave a clean and empty room behind for I plan on creating a collection of bags upon my return. During this trip I will be considering color, form, and design for my next projects. Finding inspiration shouldn’t be difficult in London.

Fiona

Our cat Fiona (Edith+Owen’s official mascot) isn’t sure what to make of all the packing that has been going on. I am going to miss her and her single white whisker.

Deep Purple Something

Sunday, May 11th, 2008

Here are some pictures of my most recent recycled leather large bag design. It is made from a vintage purple leather jacket and lined with re-purposed navy and mustard canvas. Nik and I experimented with taking a few pictures on our fire escape. These are the first shots we have tried with a model.

I need to round up a few foxy friends for our next photo-shoot.

Any volunteers?

A Big, Bad, Bag Blog

Welcome

Edith+Owen is celebrating the completion of our first fifteen eco-chic handbags. Turns out it’s time to start a bag blog.

Team

Edith+Owen exists because of three people. I design and create handbags from recycled leather and reclaimed fabrics. Matt and Nik of Plumb Media maintain the website and have developed our spiffy identity package.
